Controller

Bachelor’s Degree and at least 7 years experience in corporate accounting or a controller role At least 5 years experience building, managing, mentoring, and leading accounting and finance teams CPA required Public accounting experience preferred Industry experience working with direct-to-consumer healthcare companies Prior experience in a high growth stage startup environment a plus Industry experience and knowledge regarding revenue recognition, equity accounting, and corporate practice of medicine structures Expert knowledge and understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation, analysis, and reporting Proven leadership, business partnership, and presentation skills Strong and efficient written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational/multitasking skills, with the ability to plan/prioritize Proven experience successfully leading financial statements audits and tax filings Experience working with a variety of financial platforms i.e. NetSuite, Stripe, Carta, Ramp, etc.

Own, oversee and direct the full accounting function Direct and control general accounting activities, including monthly close, AR/AP, payroll, and revenue cycle management Lead the documentation of accounting procedures and system changes Support the development and maintenance of accounting systems and controls Work closely with internal stakeholders and auditors for annual financial statement audit Collaborate with tax firm for federal, state, and local tax returns Ensure compliance with accounting principles and adherence to policies Lead budget vs actual reconciliation monthly by department and cost center Lead treasury and cash management function Oversee payroll and other employee benefits
