Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of experience in technical sales and/or key account management. Preferably experience with OEM accounts and/or in the photonics industry. BS in a Photonics related field (Physics, Engineering, BioPhotonics, etc.) or equivalent experience. Advanced technical degree preferred. Creative application of sales and business development strategies for lead generation. Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Dynamics, CRM, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint). Highly organized, able to plan and coordinate regional activities including travel and trade shows. Learning oriented. Excellent attention to detail. Strong communication skills. Works well independently or as part of a team. Able to perform under tight deadlines and time constraints. Demonstrated experience in a customer-centric environment. US citizenship or permanent residence required to work on ITAR projects. Physics/engineering background required. Optics/laser expertise preferred.
Responsibilities:
Identify new opportunities and markets for Thorlabs' OEM team. Qualify and understand OEM customer technical needs. Manage OEM and Key Accounts, serving as the dedicated customer point of contact. Ensure products and services meet customer expectations. Handle negotiations with OEM customers and Key Accounts. Act as the customer's advocate within Thorlabs. Coordinate with internal teams to provide custom solutions. Provide accurate sales forecasting and define sales growth strategies. Provide market feedback to R&D and MarCom groups. Regularly travel to customer facilities, trade shows, and Thorlabs locations (30-50% travel). Manage and maintain pipeline and opportunities in CRM.
