Director, Data Governance

10-12 years of experience in data governance, AI/ML governance, data product management, or risk/compliance. Strong understanding of data governance tools and frameworks (DAMA-DMBOK). Strong understanding of AI risk management models (AI RMF). Deep familiarity with regulations including GDPR, PCI, HIPAA, CCPA, and emerging AI legislation. Hands-on experience with data and AI tooling (e.g., Microsoft Purview, Alation, Collibra, Databricks, Fabric, Power BI). Deep familiarity with metadata, data lineage, access controls, and master data strategies. Proven leadership experience driving cross-functional influence. Proven success building and significantly scaling data governance functions in MarTech or SaaS environments. Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution. Working knowledge of AI/ML development, model documentation, bias detection. Change management expertise is preferred. Bachelor’s degree in information security, computer science, information or related discipline is preferred.

Build and lead the Enterprise Data & AI Governance Program. Define and operationalize governance for data products. Oversee governance strategies across the data and AI/ML lifecycle. Integrate governance into AI tools and platforms. Partner with technical stakeholders and business leaders. Champion data stewardship across the organization. Drive automation of governance workflows and documentation. Maintain and improve data dictionaries, glossaries, catalogs, and access control documentation. Define KPIs and governance health metrics. Lead audits, risk reviews, and compliance assessments. Report governance performance, maturity, and risks to executive leadership.
