Corporate Counsel

JD from a top tier law school. License to practice in good standing in primary state of residence. 3-10 years total legal experience. At least 2 years of law firm experience. Significant contract drafting and negotiation experience. In-depth familiarity with consumer financial services matters generally. Strong legal research skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to learn and leverage new technology quickly and effectively.

Draft and negotiate commercial contracts with merchants and vendors. Support business development, customer service, and internal stakeholders with legal and compliance questions. Serve as an in-house subject matter expert on consumer and small business lending regulations. Provide regulatory advice and legal risk assessments for new financial products. Provide legal support for the Compliance and Operational Risk Program. Develop legal and compliance resources for contracting and regulatory compliance. Collaborate on resolving customer and regulator inquiries and complaints. Collaborate on internal policy and procedure development. Project-manage key legal and compliance projects. Support or own other legal projects as determined by the Chief Legal & Compliance Officer.
