Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in California.
  • 5+ years case management experience.
  • 3+ years insurance defense experience.
  • Experience drafting legal documents and familiarity with settlement processes required.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills for client and counsel interaction.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to independently monitor deadlines.
  • Ability to respond promptly to communications during business hours (even if part-time).
  • Experience with contemporaneous billing.
Responsibilities:
  • Draft and prepare declarations, affidavits, settlement and release agreements, and compromises.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel to ensure smooth finalization of cases.
  • Complete case closing procedures, ensuring all documentation is accurate and submitted promptly.
  • Handle court appearances as needed.
  • Manage a consistent workload, prioritizing efficiently and handling rush assignments with professionalism and accuracy.
  • Respond to time-sensitive pre-litigation settlement demands.
  • Communicate with clients to explain conditions in the demands and obtain affidavits regarding other insurance and/or assets (may require utilization of private investigators where client cannot be located).
  • Prepare Settlement and Release Agreements.
  • Prepare Minor’s Compromises, includes court attendance, and/or coordination of annuity agreements where necessary.
  • Communicate with opposing counsel regarding the demand conditions and settlement agreements.
  • Provide regular updates to the Claim’s Professional and promptly respond to requests for information.
  • Identify heirs and/or other potential claimants.
