About Open Contracting Partnership
The Open Contracting Partnership (OCP) is a global charity dedicated to transforming public procurement. Governments worldwide spend $13 trillion annually. OCP works to make this process transparent, fair, and efficient. You help open up public contracting and monitor it for better outcomes. This prevents corruption and mismanagement, impacting billions of lives. Your work here ensures public money delivers essential services and drives economic inclusion. Over $120 billion in government spending has already seen positive change. This reaches 220 million people in over 50 countries. OCP’s efforts impact $17 billion of procurement annually, benefiting 19 million people.
How We Work
You will join a small, multidisciplinary, and global team. Our expertise spans public procurement, program management, and data analysis. We embrace remote work, with team members comfortable using tools like Slack and Google Suite. OCP values diversity, equity, and inclusion in its workplace. You will collaborate closely with regional program staff and local partners. This involves designing programs and providing technical support. We are dedicated to delivering results and empowering each other. You will find a supportive environment focused on continuous learning.
Data and Technology at OCP
OCP builds and advocates for the Open Contracting Data Standard (OCDS). This free, non-proprietary standard guides data publication in public procurement. Nearly 80 governments and organizations now use OCDS. You will work with complex data sets, often scattered and of varying quality. This means tackling real-world challenges in data collection and architecture. You will use open-source tools, especially Python and SQL, for analysis and visualization. You might also explore machine learning and AI to create innovative solutions. We continuously develop our suite of tools. You will help rethink how we deliver the best data and digitization support.
