About Lithic
Lithic provides a robust card issuing platform and developer-friendly APIs that enable businesses to create, manage, and process virtual and physical payment cards. They help some of the world's fastest-growing digital banks, fintech companies, and software companies process billions in transactions annually. Founded in 2014, Lithic (originally Privacy.com) recognized the outdated nature of legacy issuer processors and built a modern solution from scratch. Their platform simplifies card issuance, authorization, and transaction processing, offering features like instant issuance, spend controls, and dispute management. Lithic powers card programs for over 100 innovative clients, transforming payments across credit, disbursements, and digital banking.
How We Work
Lithic transitioned to a remote-first approach in March 2020, offering flexibility for employees to work from anywhere. While a distributed team is welcome to stay fully remote, employees in the NYC area are encouraged to work from the SoHo office three days a week, with Tuesdays and Thursdays being core in-office days. They believe in-person collaboration boosts creativity, communication, and agility. The company values being a good neighbor, fostering an accepting and inclusive workplace, and inviting diverse ideas. Customer centricity is paramount; decisions are made considering their impact on clients. They also emphasize delivering excellence, setting ambitious goals, and continuously striving for growth.
Engineering at Lithic
Lithic engineers build and manage mission-critical systems that power billions of dollars in money movement for innovative fintechs and digital banks. They craft internal developer tooling and infrastructure using Rust and Python, enabling rapid and confident development. The team designs resilient systems, responds to and resolves incidents, and continuously adapts infrastructure. You'll contribute to Rust developer platform tooling and Pulumi & Python infrastructure as code tooling. They support production workloads at scale and focus on CI/CD and deployment patterns. Experience with AWS, Linux systems, networking, and observability tooling is essential. They also value experience with relational databases, particularly Postgres, and strongly typed languages like TypeScript or Golang.
