Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of post-secondary education or relevant work experience.
  • Experience with scholarly communication, metadata, or digital preservation.
  • Familiarity with DOI (Digital Object Identifier) and other persistent identifier systems.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.
  • Experience in law libraries, legal publishing, or digital repository management.
  • Ability to work full-time.
  • Ability to travel for quarterly on-site meetings, conferences, and events as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Review current practices at HLSL and Perma.cc to identify requirements for DOI assignment to legal scholarship.
  • Track developments in legal citation standards related to DOI.
  • Evaluate options for DOI minting and provide recommendations.
  • Develop and document criteria and workflows for DOI assignment.
  • Lead outreach to law journals, faculty, clinics, and other stakeholders.
  • Serve as primary liaison to DOI registration agencies.
  • Collaborate with technical teams at Perma.cc and HLSL to design and pilot DOI process integration.
  • Prepare documentation, policy recommendations, and final reports regarding DOI management.
