Requirements
- 10+ years of backend development experience, including data engineering and data platforms.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, with production experience using PostgreSQL.
- Proficiency with data streaming and event processing tools (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pulsar, or Amazon Kinesis).
- Strong proficiency in a modern general-purpose programming language.
- Experience deploying and operating services in containerized environments (Kubernetes).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and/or Helm.
- Experience with, or interest in, using LLM-assisted or agentic coding tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for asynchronous and remote-friendly environments.
- Collaborative mindset with experience working across disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Partner with engineering and product leaders to guide architecture and solutions for the Beacon Datastore.
- Influence architectural standards and best practices across Platform teams.
- Implement features that model engineering best practices and coach team members.
- Maintain high standards for data integrity, design soundness, and system maintainability.
- Draft RFCs to lead complex feature discovery and technical design phases.
- Solicit input and build alignment on architectural decisions.
