Requirements
- 10+ years of backend development experience, including significant focus on data engineering and infrastructure.
- Strong proficiency in SQL with production experience using PostgreSQL.
- Proficiency with data streaming and event processing using tools like Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pulsar, or Amazon Kinesis.
- Strong proficiency in a modern general-purpose programming language.
- Experience deploying and operating services in containerized environments (Kubernetes).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and/or Helm.
- Experience with or interest in using LLM-assisted or agentic coding tools in production.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for asynchronous, remote-friendly environments.
Responsibilities
- Guide architecture and solutions for the Beacon Datastore in partnership with engineering and product leaders.
- Influence architectural standards and design patterns across Platform teams.
- Implement features while modeling best practices for data integrity, design soundness, and maintainability.
- Draft RFCs to lead technical design phases and build alignment on complex feature development.
- Coach team members to develop their engineering skills and architectural expertise.
