Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in program and project management, including at least 3 years leading a PMO, transformation program, or large-scale technology initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field preferred; high school diploma required.
- Proven experience establishing PMO capabilities in environments requiring new processes, governance structures, and delivery standards.
- Experience managing technology transformation programs, including data platforms, ERP initiatives, operational systems, or enterprise technology modernization.
- Strong knowledge of project delivery methodologies and the ability to apply the right approach based on business needs.
- Experience managing external vendors and delivery partners against milestone-based contracts and measurable outcomes.
- Strong financial acumen, including budget tracking, capitalization awareness, cost reporting, and delivery planning.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly present project status, risks, and strategic updates to executive and board-level stakeholders.
- Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing project management teams while encouraging ownership and accountability.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
- PMP, PgMP, or similar project management certification is preferred.
- Ability to travel and/or work onsite occasionally, up to approximately 20% as required.
Responsibilities
- Establish and lead the Project Management Office, defining methodologies, tools, templates, governance frameworks, and delivery standards for technology initiatives.
- Create and manage a centralized intake and prioritization process that provides leadership with visibility into project portfolios, timelines, resources, costs, and business impact.
- Oversee program governance for enterprise transformation initiatives, including milestone tracking, dependency management, risk mitigation, issue escalation, and stage-gate processes.
- Manage delivery partners and vendors by monitoring contracted milestones, acceptance criteria, performance expectations, and overall outcomes.
- Develop executive-level reporting, including technology performance metrics, delivery health updates, budget tracking, and commitment status for senior leadership and board visibility.
- Coordinate vendor transitions, technology insourcing initiatives, knowledge transfer activities, cutover plans, and project closure processes.
- Improve project management capabilities across the organization through coaching, process optimization, team development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead and develop project management staff by setting clear expectations, supporting career growth, and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
- Partner with technology, operations, data, and business teams to establish effective delivery rhythms and ensure successful execution of strategic initiatives.
