Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant legal experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department supporting business operations.
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
- Significant experience negotiating and interpreting commercial contracts, including SaaS, licensing, and technology agreements.
- Experience advising on employment law matters and partnering with HR or People teams.
- Strong understanding of privacy, compliance, corporate governance, and risk management considerations.
- Experience leveraging AI tools, automation solutions, or legal technology platforms to improve legal workflows and service delivery.
- Ability to responsibly evaluate and apply emerging technologies while maintaining confidentiality and sound legal judgment.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice and influence stakeholders across different functions.
- Experience working with tools such as Salesforce, Microsoft Office, DocuSign, Teams, and related workplace technologies.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience in SaaS, eCommerce, technology companies, or global organizations is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Negotiate, draft, review, and manage a broad range of commercial agreements, including SaaS agreements, technology agreements, licensing contracts, partnership agreements, procurement documents, and confidentiality agreements.
- Provide strategic legal guidance to business leaders and sales teams while balancing commercial objectives with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Advise People and HR teams on employment matters, including recruitment, compensation, employee relations, workforce initiatives, and employment documentation.
- Develop and maintain legal processes, templates, playbooks, and policies that improve efficiency, consistency, and risk management.
- Support legal operations through the use of AI-enabled tools, automation technologies, and workflow improvements to enhance productivity.
- Advise on privacy, data protection, AI governance, compliance initiatives, and enterprise risk management matters.
- Support corporate governance activities, entity management, regulatory filings, audits, and reporting requirements.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to address legal issues, support strategic initiatives, and improve overall business outcomes.
- Coordinate with external legal advisors and contribute to special projects involving compliance, procurement, disputes, and operational improvements.
