Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in marketing and business development roles, preferably within a law firm or professional services organization.
  • 5+ years of experience managing and developing business development professionals.
  • Proven ability to create and implement business development strategies across complex portfolios with measurable commercial impact.
  • Strong expertise in strategic planning, prioritization, budgeting, negotiation, and ROI analysis.
  • Ability to motivate senior professionals and stakeholders to engage in business development activities and growth initiatives.
  • Creative and innovative mindset with the ability to challenge existing approaches and introduce new ideas.
  • Highly proactive, accountable, and organized, with strong project management and execution skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience creating proposals, presentations, marketing materials, and research reports.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior leaders, partners, and sophisticated clients.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and familiarity with CRM or experience management platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic business development leadership across multiple business portfolios, ensuring alignment between growth initiatives, market opportunities, and organizational objectives.
  • Develop and execute business development and marketing strategies that increase revenue opportunities, strengthen brand visibility, and deliver measurable results.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leadership by leveraging knowledge of clients, industries, competitors, and market trends to identify strategic priorities.
  • Analyze client insights, market intelligence, and competitive data to create proactive growth initiatives and business opportunities.
  • Introduce innovative business development approaches, scalable processes, and best practices that improve effectiveness and consistency.
  • Lead thought leadership initiatives, client programs, proposals, presentations, and strategic campaigns in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Manage opportunity pipelines by identifying, prioritizing, and advancing high-value business development efforts.
  • Establish processes, tools, and frameworks that enhance business development efficiency, accountability, and scalability.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and provide mentorship, guidance, and expertise to promote a high-quality service culture.
