Requirements
- Proven executive leadership of a merchandise planning, inventory management, and allocation function at a wholesale retail business.
- Experience managing a retail business through $500M to $2B+ in revenue and double-digit growth.
- Strong people management experience with a track record of building high-performance teams and developing bench strength.
- Demonstrated ability to set strategic vision and operating standards for a planning organization.
- Proven decision-making speed and conviction in organizational design, staffing, and systems investments.
- Experience with distribution network expansion, inventory deployment, and drop-ship strategies.
- Direct experience owning a demand planning or allocation platform implementation (e.g., Intuendi, Blue Yonder, o9, ToolsGroup, Impact Analytics).
- Fluency in inventory KPIs such as in-stock rate, weeks of supply, weeks on hand, aged inventory, and working capital efficiency.
- Proficiency in utilizing AI tools to improve operational speed and output.
- Comfort operating as a strategic partner to Merchandising, Supply Chain, and Finance leaders.
Responsibilities
- Define and develop the team to Merchandise Planning's north star, including operating cadence and standards.
- Transition the forecasting and allocation platform from implementation to full adoption.
- Design and execute a scalable organizational structure for Planning, Inventory Management, and Allocation.
- Build the planning strategy supporting warehouse network expansion and inventory deployment.
- Set inventory investment strategies, including drop-ship versus owned inventory decisions.
- Manage end-to-end inventory health metrics, including in-stock rates, weeks of supply, and working capital efficiency.
- Lead and develop direct reports into autonomous operators.
- Partner with Merchandising, Supply Chain, and Finance as a vocal leader in cross-functional forums.
