Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in progressive accounting roles, including managing multi-client engagements or corporate financial operations.
- 3–5+ years of foundational experience in financial audit, assurance, or risk advisory at a public accounting firm.
- Exceptional ability to lead in-person discovery meetings and command a room of executive stakeholders.
- High proficiency in cloud accounting platforms such as QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, and Sage Intacct.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to thrive in a remote, Slack-heavy, and client-email-focused environment.
- CPA license (bonus, inactive status accepted).
- Ability to travel up to 2 times per month for 2–3 day client onsite assessments.
- Ability to attend an annual 3-4 day staff retreat in Southern California.
- Must currently reside in Nevada, Arizona, Idaho, Texas, or California.
Responsibilities
- Lead 2–3 day in-person discovery sessions to evaluate financial health, internal controls, and operational bottlenecks.
- Author comprehensive assessment reports and partner with CFOs to present financial roadmaps to client leadership.
- Serve as the lead Controller for a portfolio of clients, managing month-end close, budgets, forecasts, and accounting system optimizations.
- Identify risk areas and establish internal controls to ensure client books are audit-ready.
- Direct and review the work of accounting staff and specialized contractors to meet quality, budget, and scope targets.
