Requirements
- 5+ years in a role requiring end-to-end ownership of complex projects with external stakeholders.
- Direct experience standing up something new, such as an organization, fund, program, or major partnership.
- Proven track record managing external advisers, specifically legal counsel, and converting advice into actionable decisions.
- Excellent writing and synthesis skills for creating materials for boards, funders, and counsel.
- Experience with partnership or contract negotiation, or a demonstrated ability to learn it quickly.
- Familiarity with at least some of: philanthropy, global development, nonprofit governance, institutional investment, or AI policy.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving, remote, international team with a high degree of self-direction.
- Willingness to travel internationally.
- Experience in cash transfer programs, social protection, or nonprofit legal/governance is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Own the Fund's build plan, sequencing legal, governance, partnership, fundraising, and pilot workstreams.
- Manage external counsel across jurisdictions, including US tax-exempt and Swiss foundation legal advice.
- Drive partnership development with delivery organizations and coalition members, managing agreements through to signature.
- Lead end-to-end fundraising support, including diligence requests, pipeline management, and preparation of materials.
- Design and stand up the Fund's governance framework, including board formation and charter development.
- Prepare the first distribution pilot from design through to operational readiness.
- Build internal operating infrastructure, including planning, reporting, and systems for audit and credibility.
