Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in program development, policy, or government service delivery.
- 3+ years of experience managing teams, including direct management of at least one people manager.
- Proven track record of managing complex, multi-stakeholder program delivery.
- Demonstrated experience working within or directly alongside government entities.
- Familiarity with agile or iterative program delivery approaches.
- Collaboration experience with product and engineering teams.
- Deep familiarity with Safety Net benefits (SNAP, Medicaid), Tax programs, or Criminal Justice initiatives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel 15-25% of the time to partner sites and government offices.
- Commitment to Code for America's mission and civic impact.
Responsibilities
- Own partnership escalation and strategic direction for a portfolio of 4-6 programs.
- Manage and coach Associate Program Directors and program staff to support professional growth and strong performance.
- Build and sustain relationships with federal, state, and county agency leadership.
- Ensure programs align with organizational strategy and achieve measurable client outcomes.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to oversee iterative delivery and implementation.
- Represent the organization to government partners, funders, and community organizations.
- Anticipate risks, resource constraints, and staffing needs across the project portfolio.
