- 5+ years of experience in the areas of corporate or health law
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.
- 5+ years of experience in corporate or health law.
- Strong legal research, analysis, and writing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice in a complex regulatory environment.
- 1+ years of experience with government contract law, health law, and managed care preferred.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, state insurance, and HMO regulations preferred.
- Bar admission and standing in good standing preferred.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a lead resource for commercial health plan regulatory matters, including Ambetter Health and Solutions.
- Advise business and compliance partners on federal and state healthcare laws, regulations, and market requirements.
- Research, analyze, and interpret complex healthcare regulatory requirements like ACA/Exchange operations, mental health parity, and the No Surprises Act.
- Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, policies, procedures, and related documents.
- Provide practical legal guidance for the implementation of new laws, regulatory changes, and business initiatives.
- Manage or support subpoenas, disputes, and outside counsel engagement.
- Partner with Compliance, Regulatory Operations, Product, Clinical, Network, and Finance teams to mitigate legal risks.
