Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Seven (7) years of progressive professional experience in accounting or finance.
- Demonstrated experience with nonprofit Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with restricted fund accounting, cost allocation, and audit support.
- Working knowledge of federal grant compliance and reporting requirements.
- Strong proficiency with accounting systems, financial reporting tools, and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment.
- Strong attention to detail and well-developed reconciliation and review skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Salesforce and Microsoft Office tools.
Responsibilities
- Manage financial review, accounting, and reporting for assigned grants, including federal grants subject to Single Audit requirements.
- Ensure timely and accurate revenue recognition for grants and contributions in accordance with GAAP, FASB guidance, and OMB Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200).
- Partner with Program, Lending, and Finance teams to prepare grant financial reports and ensure alignment with funder agreements.
- Maintain NMTC fund-related accounting records in accordance with GAAP and fund accounting standards.
- Review quarterly and annual NMTC fund financial statements and draft tax returns prepared by external auditors.
- Contribute to monthly and quarterly close activities, including restricted fund reconciliations and reporting.
- Partner with Finance leadership on financial systems modernization, process improvement, and automation efforts.
