Requirements
- Fluency in retail merchandising operations.
- Demonstrated experience in mapping and redesigning broken operational processes.
- Basic technical acumen with a willingness to build solutions hands-on.
- Experience running pilot programs from scoping through full adoption.
- Proficiency in documentation, SOP creation, and training development.
- Ability to work effectively with specialist teams for coaching rather than outsourcing build work.
- Proven experience connecting marketing or demand planning to inventory and allocation is a plus.
- Background in retail, CPG, or commerce with understanding of vendor and marketplace dynamics.
- Experience building tools with Claude or similar AI technologies is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Map current merchandising workflows and identify core process bottlenecks.
- Redesign operating processes for assortment planning, item setup, pricing, markdowns, and PO management.
- Coordinate the calendar between marketing activations and inventory to ensure stock availability.
- Translate activation plans into buy and replenishment signals to flag potential stock risks.
- Build self-service tools and proactive alerts to scale buyer-vendor communication.
- Develop automation using Claude, AI tools, and low/no-code platforms.
- Run pilot programs end-to-end including scoping, building, testing, and scaling.
- Manage change through training, office hours, and documentation of new tools and processes.
