Requirements
- Real-world fluency in retail merchandising operations.
- Proven experience mapping and redesigning broken business processes.
- Basic technical acumen with a willingness to build tools personally.
- Experience running projects from initial scoping through adoption.
- Strong focus on documentation, SOPs, and building sustainable internal tools.
- Experience connecting demand planning or marketing with inventory and allocation.
- Ability to work effectively with specialist teams for coaching while maintaining individual ownership of builds.
- Strong analytical mindset to differentiate between problems worth automating and those requiring manual oversight.
Responsibilities
- Map actual merchandising workflows to identify bottlenecks and process inefficiencies.
- Redesign core operating processes including assortment planning, item setup, pricing, markdowns, and PO management.
- Manage the calendar linking marketing activations to inventory levels to ensure stock readiness.
- Translate activation plans into buy, allocation, and replenishment signals while flagging stock risks.
- Build self-service tools and proactive alerts for buyer-vendor communications using AI and no-code platforms.
- Conduct end-to-end pilots from scoping and building to testing and scaling.
- Lead change management efforts, including staff training and AI literacy initiatives.
- Maintain a registry of approved tools and automations to ensure team transparency.
