Requirements
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Health Informatics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- At least 12 years of progressive experience in clinical informatics.
- Experience with EHR, claims, unstructured RWD, and molecular data.
- Experience applying RWD to device, therapeutic, or software product development.
- At least 10 years of experience building and leading high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience leading data modeling, terminology normalization, data curation, or unstructured data abstraction via NLP.
- Deep knowledge of health system and payer ontologies (ICD-10, HCPCS, CPT, LOINC, RxNorm).
- Proficiency in Python, R, and/or SQL.
- Demonstrated success in matrixed organizations with complex stakeholder management.
- Passion for scaling technical platforms and hands-on leadership.
Responsibilities
- Define, develop, and implement RWD strategy, platform, and data pipeline.
- Lead the RWD Informatics team in turning EHR, claims, imaging, and other sources into research-ready datasets.
- Evaluate and integrate AI and agentic workflows to improve data quality, interpretability, and pipeline efficiency.
- Architect and maintain a scalable platform for ingesting, linking, and harmonizing complex, disparate real-world datasets.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, and Engineering to meet end-user needs.
- Oversee translation of raw data into regulatory-grade, research-ready formats following industry standards like OMOP.
- Manage RWD department budget and resources while fostering a culture of collaboration.
