Requirements
- 3+ years of ML/AI engineering experience in high-growth companies (or relevant academic research).
- 6+ years of total experience as a software developer.
- 2+ years of experience with Databricks, Mosaic AI Gateway, and the Databricks stack.
- Strong track record with language modeling, GenAI, fine-tuning, and agentic workflows.
- Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
- Experience designing scalable, distributed systems for data processing (10s–100s of TBs).
- Proven ability to drive end-to-end model and system development from prototype to production.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals including testing, code review, and deployment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Cloud Architecture, AI architecture, and MPP compute frameworks.
- Experience leading software development teams or projects.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
Responsibilities
- Shape the direction of applied AI and intelligence features for products like Abacus Agents.
- Develop novel data collection, fine-tuning, and LLM techniques for optimal task performance.
- Design and implement ML/AI pipelines for data preprocessing, training, and evaluation.
- Build scalable, reusable backend systems to support GenAI products with robust monitoring.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI solutions that improve user productivity.
- Drive critical initiatives across AI innovation, development productivity, and benchmarking.
- Mentor and coach software and AI developers to ensure alignment with architectural standards.
- Participate in architectural discussions and influence key technical decisions.
- Represent Abacus in customer-facing technical conversations.
