Requirements
- Current state certification/licensure in the appropriate area.
- Three years of teaching experience preferred (at least 2 in special education).
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Strong content knowledge in one or more subject areas.
- Familiarity with state proficiency testing and teaching standards.
- Proficiency in Google Docs, MS Office Suite, email, and internet applications.
- Experience with IDEA compliance software, including PowerSchool Special Programs.
- Ability to interpret student data to make educational decisions.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to perform occasional local and in-state travel.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings.
- Ability to pass federal, state, and local background checks.
Responsibilities
- Implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for served students.
- Write and maintain IEPs and student records in compliance with federal, state, and local mandates.
- Participate in the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) process.
- Deliver instruction in 1:1, small group, or whole class settings.
- Administer standardized tests, benchmark assessments, and evaluation assessments.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, psychologists, and external professionals.
- Work with related services to maintain current student evaluations.
