Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of VA, FHA, Agency, Non-agency, and Community lending policies.
- Proven ability to underwrite complex transactions.
- Experience managing and auditing underwriting workflows.
- Strong analytical thinking and data analysis skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication and diplomacy skills.
- Ability to maintain $2.5MM in lending authority.
- Understanding of the risk management lifecycle.
- Familiarity with governance, policy, procedure, and regulation standards.
- Capability to mentor and train team members.
Responsibilities
- Support the underwriting manager in managing workflow and reviewing pipeline reports.
- Perform daily pipeline reviews to ensure compliance with service level agreements.
- Ensure team adherence to quality and production standards.
- Assist in auditing team members and training new hires.
- Mentor processors and underwriters for professional development.
- Underwrite complex transactions across multiple loan plans while maintaining $2.5MM lending authority.
- Analyze escalated loan scenarios and provide resolutions for sales and processing teams.
- Communicate credit decisions and new policies to the team.
- Maintain and distribute daily control tracking reports for ARCMs.
- Conduct final decline reviews and participate in the decline committee process.
