Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in transportation, carrier procurement, or logistics finance.
- Hands-on expertise in parcel or final mile carrier billing mechanics, including base rates, dimensional weight, and fuel surcharges.
- Proven experience performing rate delta analyses and identifying billing discrepancies.
- Proficiency in Excel for rate modeling, VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, and data validation.
- Working knowledge of TMS, ERP, or carrier billing platforms.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen for interpreting complex tariff language.
- High attention to detail with a focus on financial accountability.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration across internal teams.
- Experience with FedEx, UPS, USPS, or regional carriers is preferred.
- Experience in 3PL, fulfillment platforms, or e-commerce shipping is preferred.
- Knowledge of SQL, Databricks, or BI tools is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Translate executed carrier contracts into accurate system configurations including base rates, accessorials, fuel surcharges, and zone-based pricing.
- Maintain carrier-specific surcharge logic and update configurations to align with contract terms.
- Manage zip-zone assignment tables and resolve discrepancies in zone mapping.
- Execute delta analyses for general rate increases (GRIs) and validate new rate cards against historical baselines.
- Audit carrier invoices for billing errors, unauthorized charges, and zip-zone misapplications.
- Investigate billing discrepancies and maintain audit controls for invoice accuracy.
- Partner with Finance and Accounts Payable for carrier payments and month-end accruals.
- Monitor carrier compliance with service levels and support carrier onboarding activities.
