Requirements
- Strong backend engineering fundamentals in Node/TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience with a compiled language such as Go or Rust.
- Solid relational database experience (Postgres or MySQL).
- Deep understanding of distributed systems.
- Experience with AWS and serverless architecture (Lambda).
- Proven ability to make and own technical decisions with incomplete information.
- Strong cross-functional communication skills for negotiating with business partners.
- Capacity to operate effectively in ambiguous environments.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards for code and system architecture.
Responsibilities
- Re-architect account hierarchy to support complex parent-child business relationships.
- Build out dynamic, scalable travel policies across lodging, flights, and cars for enterprise customers.
- Evaluate and execute on the migration of functionality from the monolith to microservices.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders on product negotiations and strategic technical decisions.
- Partner with frontend engineers to deliver features end-to-end.
- Contribute to a future policies service potentially using Go or Rust.
