  • Strong understanding of the OpenTelemetry ecosystem, including telemetry signals, semantic conventions, collectors, and production instrumentation tradeoffs.
  • Experience working with logs, metrics, traces, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure concepts.
  • Familiarity with AI workload economics, including token pricing, model selection, LLM usage patterns, and cost attribution.
  • Experience building or managing products related to AI agents, LLM platforms, gateways, proxies, or metering solutions is a strong advantage.
  • Deep empathy for developers and engineering teams, with the ability to collaborate on complex technical decisions.
  • Proven ability to turn ambiguous, cross-functional challenges into clear strategies and successful product outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience as an SRE, observability engineer, infrastructure engineer, or contributor to open-source telemetry projects is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience building, evaluating, or instrumenting AI agents in production environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Define the future of observability for AI-native applications, including visibility into model calls, tool usage, autonomous agent workflows, and token-based cost management.
  • Partner closely with engineering teams and product leaders to guide technical decisions around telemetry pipelines, architecture, scalability, and performance.
  • Drive prioritization across observability initiatives by balancing foundational platform investments with customer needs and business objectives.
  • Develop a strong product perspective on emerging observability standards, AI workload monitoring, cost attribution, and developer workflows.
  • Engage directly with customers and internal teams to understand debugging challenges, monitoring requirements, and infrastructure needs.
  • Translate complex technical challenges into clear product strategies, roadmaps, and measurable outcomes.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure observability solutions provide reliable insights across the broader platform ecosystem.
  • Advocate for developer experience and build products that simplify the management of complex software systems.
