Requirements
- 3+ years of engineering management leadership experience.
- Experience with platform reliability, system health, or critical-domain code.
- Proven experience building or running proactive stability or support programs.
- Ability to distinguish one-off issues from systemic problems.
- Proficiency in using AI agents as a default part of team workflow.
- Ability to negotiate scope and ownership boundaries with other teams.
- Sufficient technical depth to review complex work in high-risk domains.
- Experience managing underperformance and high performers.
- Capacity to provide direct feedback and build psychological safety.
- Ability to hold high bars for work and respond to setbacks with ownership.
- Strong experience with PHP/Laravel environments is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Own stewardship of the application's highest-risk, highest-impact domain areas.
- Build measurement systems for system health, such as deployment frequency and recurring failure patterns.
- Prioritize root cause fixes over individual ticket volume to resolve recurring issues.
- Lead first-line triage of engineering support tickets and route unresolved issues with context.
- Implement AI agents as the default starting point for maintenance and support triage.
- Champion the development of skills, prompts, and automation to enable AI-driven fixes.
- Negotiate scope and ownership boundaries with other engineering teams.
- Represent system health and support trends to product and engineering leadership.
- Execute people management responsibilities including 1:1s, feedback, and growth development.
- Maintain hands-on technical involvement to unblock the team and stay credible.
