Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of cost accounting experience, including inventory accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP inventory accounting principles and standard costing methodologies.
- Experience with Oracle ERP or another enterprise resource planning system preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with databases, reporting tools, or automation solutions.
- Experience with Power BI, OneStream, or similar analytics and reporting platforms is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate complex accounting issues.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain financial information to diverse stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills and ownership of responsibilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams in a fast-paced environment.
- CPA, CMA, or MBA certification is preferred.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10% for inventory counts and business needs.
Responsibilities
- Manage inventory accounting activities, including inventory valuation, standard cost maintenance, intercompany inventory transaction balancing, and related month-end closing entries.
- Prepare and analyze inventory and cost accounting reconciliations to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with US GAAP requirements.
- Investigate and resolve inventory costing issues, including uncosted materials, cost variances, transaction discrepancies, and operational accounting differences.
- Maintain and update standard costs, freight, duty, tariff, and other inventory-related cost components within ERP systems.
- Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and technology teams to identify root causes, resolve accounting issues, and improve processes.
- Support physical inventory counts, documentation, and related accounting activities.
- Assist with audit requests, SOX controls, and compliance-related activities.
- Develop and monitor accounting and operational KPIs to improve accuracy, efficiency, and reporting visibility.
