Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Two (2) years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid Alabama Special Education Teaching Certificate
- Residency in Alabama
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Experience using databases
- Web proficiency
- Great organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week
- Ability to clear required background check
Responsibilities
- Assist with the implementation of all policies and procedures related to Special Education programs
- Create and maintain relationships with state/regional/district-level special education leaders
- Request special education records from student’s resident school district and check for compliance and currency
- Assist with all special education reporting, e.g. school, local, state, and federal
- Track and inform teachers of compliancy dates for Individual Educational Plans (IEP)
- Contact students and families for entry ARD/IEP meetings, schedule meetings, and distribute IEPs and evaluations
- Manage class loads and teacher assignments
- Coordinate and organize student special education records for partner school districts
