Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid Alabama Special Education Teaching Certificate
  • Residency in Alabama
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience using databases
  • Web proficiency
  • Great organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week
  • Ability to clear required background check

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the implementation of all policies and procedures related to Special Education programs
  • Create and maintain relationships with state/regional/district-level special education leaders
  • Request special education records from student’s resident school district and check for compliance and currency
  • Assist with all special education reporting, e.g. school, local, state, and federal
  • Track and inform teachers of compliancy dates for Individual Educational Plans (IEP)
  • Contact students and families for entry ARD/IEP meetings, schedule meetings, and distribute IEPs and evaluations
  • Manage class loads and teacher assignments
  • Coordinate and organize student special education records for partner school districts
