Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active bar membership in at least one U.S. or Canadian jurisdiction.
- At least 8+ years of post-qualification legal experience.
- Expertise in employment law and litigation/dispute strategy.
- Experience managing outside counsel and complex disputes, including budgets and strategy.
- Strong judgment in handling privileged, sensitive, and reputationally significant matters.
- Ability to work autonomously and cross-functionally with non-legal stakeholders.
- Experience providing practical, business-oriented legal advice in complex operational environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in English.
Responsibilities
- Oversee North America litigation and claims across a broad risk portfolio, including commercial disputes, employment matters, and intellectual property.
- Serve as primary legal advisor on employment issues, including investigations, terminations, and policy-related projects.
- Manage outside counsel on litigation and employment matters, focusing on strategy, budgets, and outcomes.
- Advise on commercial transactions, contracts, and M&A activities while identifying risks.
- Provide proactive legal counsel for plant operations, logistics, and real estate management.
- Support the development of company policy and regulatory compliance procedures.
- Partner with HR and operations teams to mitigate risk and facilitate early resolution of disputes.
