Requirements

  • Several years of hands-on payroll experience covering both the Netherlands and Belgium.
  • Strong knowledge of local payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience leading or significantly contributing to end-to-end payroll implementation projects.
  • Strong expertise with Dutch payroll software, including AFAS.
  • Familiarity with EasyPay for Belgian payroll is highly desirable.
  • In-depth understanding of payroll reconciliations, parallel payroll runs, and payroll validation.
  • Excellent project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills for explaining complex payroll processes and compliance requirements.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently in a remote, asynchronous environment.
  • Professional fluency in English.
  • Dutch and/or French language skills are considered a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end payroll implementation projects for the Netherlands and Belgium, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely client onboarding.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for local payroll legislation and processes across both Employer of Record (EOR) and Global Payroll services.
  • Participate in client discovery sessions, sales handovers, project kick-offs, and implementation planning to ensure successful project execution.
  • Manage the full implementation lifecycle, including configuration, payroll data validation, parallel runs, first live payroll, and operational handover.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, payroll software providers, and internal stakeholders throughout each implementation.
  • Configure and validate payroll data within payroll systems, ensuring compliance with local regulations and business requirements.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, standard operating procedures, implementation plans, and process records.
  • Monitor implementation milestones, KPIs, and SLAs while proactively identifying and resolving risks.
  • Support continuous process improvements, platform enhancements, user acceptance testing (UAT), and documentation updates.
  • Mentor Payroll Generalists and contribute to knowledge sharing across the wider payroll team.
