Requirements
- Active national pharmacy technician certification (PTCB or NHA/ExCPT) is required.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician or related experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong verbal communication and phone skills.
- Ability to work an 8-hour shift scheduled between 8:00 AM and 7:30 PM ET.
- Flexibility with occasional Saturday shifts.
- Ability to quickly build rapport and empathize with patients over the phone.
- Self-motivation and ability to work effectively in an independent environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to learn new processes.
Responsibilities
- Proactively grow the specialty pharmacy patient population by making outbound phone calls to eligible patients and enrolling them with Shields Partner Pharmacy.
- Educate patients on the services offered by the Shields Specialty Pharmacy Program.
- Access patient's EMR and review chart notes prior to outbound calls.
- Identify medications requiring special storage or handling.
- Identify necessary supplies for select medications such as sharps containers and syringes.
- Maintain patient information confidentiality.
