Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience as a database developer/engineer, with exposure to migration work.
- Working experience with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or PostgreSQL/Aurora PostgreSQL.
- Hands-on exposure to database migration projects.
- Solid SQL skills and working understanding of query performance tuning.
- Familiarity with AWS SCT and AWS DMS.
- Awareness of schema migration tools such as Flyway or Liquibase.
- Working knowledge of PostgreSQL fundamentals: indexing and execution plans.
Responsibilities
- Convert SQL, stored procedures, and database objects to PostgreSQL-compatible SQL/PLpgSQL.
- Work through AWS SCT findings, flagging limitations that need senior review.
- Maintain the Flyway migration codebase, including versioned scripts and rollbacks.
- Identify and troubleshoot database-related application bugs.
- Support query optimization for PostgreSQL through execution plans and indexing.
- Monitor AWS DMS during load and CDC phases.
- Validate and reconcile data between source and target databases.
- Collaborate with application teams to align SQL behavior and performance expectations.
