Requirements

  • 15 years or equivalent experience with a bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, or electrical engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in managing project engineering and/or delivery of cross-functional teams for hazardous material facilities.
  • 5+ years of experience in teams developing complex and innovative energy solutions.
  • Experience with electrolysis (PEM, alkaline, or SOEC) and hydrogen storage technologies.
  • Experience with fuel cell configurations (PEM, SOFC) or thermal generation systems.
  • Familiarity with balance-of-plant components including compression, purification, thermal management, and controls.
  • Knowledge of grid interconnection, microgrids, and energy management systems (EMS/SCADA).
  • Understanding of applicable codes and standards for energy infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to support project execution and construction team integration.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 33%.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, rapid growth environments.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering development of New Energy Systems including hydrogen-based systems, fuel cells, linear generators, nuclear, and thermal generators.
  • Drive the New Energy Systems roadmap and guide technology from concept through demonstration and commercial deployment.
  • Evaluate emerging generation technologies for performance, safety, supply chain readiness, and levelized cost of energy (LCOE).
  • Develop and lead stage-gate processes, advancing technologies and products from TRL 4–8 and MRL 4–8.
  • Define technical criteria and lead system architecture design, including integration with renewable generation and grid interconnection.
  • Support project development, including conceptual design, equipment specification, and vendor selection.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and manufacturing teams to industrialize hydrogen and fuel cell systems.
  • Provide technical support to commercial deployments to ensure performance, reliability, and continuous improvement.
