Requirements
- 5+ years of experience operating production Kubernetes and AWS cloud infrastructure at scale.
- Strong proficiency in Terraform and GitOps/Kustomize practices.
- Experience building idempotent, automated, and self-verifying operational systems.
- Demonstrated experience in incident response for distributed systems, specifically databases and streaming platforms.
- Fluency in the performance characteristics of PostgreSQL, columnar stores, and streaming buses under load.
- Experience working with or building systems for AI agents, focusing on safety guardrails and runbook creation.
- Bias for action: prioritizing automated checks over manual documentation or procedures.
- Ability to treat manual runbooks as production bugs that require automation.
Responsibilities
- Own infrastructure topology, scaling, and cost boundaries for an agent-operated platform.
- Develop validation gates, idempotency checks, and self-verifying runbooks to ensure system safety.
- Diagnose novel distributed-systems failures including consumer lag and data integrity issues.
- Manage reliability, capacity, and cost through load testing, database sizing, and SLO monitoring.
- Govern security boundaries, IAM/IRSA policies, and secret rotation.
- Maintain the accuracy of runbooks and agent context to ensure reliable automated operations.
- Lead incident management and translate fixes into automated regression tests and runbooks.
