Requirements

  • Strong professional writing skills, particularly for donor-facing correspondence and reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to own multiple workstreams, manage deadlines, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills with a focus on structuring messy processes.
  • Proficiency with Airtable or the ability to master it quickly.
  • Strong user of AI tools.
  • Competence in spreadsheets and basic quantitative reasoning for data analysis.
  • Familiarity with effective altruism principles and motivation for the EA Funds mission.
  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain discretion, and handle sensitive information.
  • Availability to work within hours overlapping between Eastern Time (ET) and Central European Time (CET).
  • Ability to travel for 3 to 6 trips annually, including international travel for retreats and events.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the EA Funds grant database in Airtable, ensuring accurate and organized records.
  • Categorize and triage incoming grant applications and handle requests such as no-cost extensions.
  • Support grantmaking operations including salary benchmarking, compliance checks, and reference gathering.
  • Run ad-hoc analyses on grant data, donor patterns, and fund performance for leadership.
  • Manage the EA Funds inbox and draft public-facing content like Forum posts and memos.
  • Support donor relations by drafting reports, preparing talking points, and maintaining a relationship tracker.
  • Break down goals into concrete steps and track progress across team workstreams.
  • Proactively identify and implement improvements to team systems, processes, and tools.
  • Support financial management including budget drafting, reconciliation, and transaction review.
  • Provide meeting support including agenda preparation, briefing materials, and action item tracking.
