Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant experience with web-based applications.
  • Previous experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment.
  • Strong experience with server-side and web application development using modern software engineering practices.
  • Advanced understanding of concurrent programming concepts, including design, development, testing, troubleshooting, and deployment.
  • Experience maintaining production applications in regulated environments such as government, healthcare, or other compliance-focused industries.
  • Experience with software requirements analysis, implementation planning, tracking, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency with version control systems, CI/CD practices, and automated testing approaches.
  • Ability to design technical solutions based on business requirements and document processes effectively.
  • Background or experience in graphic design and visual interface development.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance web applications, administrative portals, and supporting middleware components within a secure .mil environment.
  • Implement approved updates to application modules, survey functionality, user interfaces, reporting capabilities, and system features.
  • Perform application maintenance activities including defect resolution, performance optimization, troubleshooting, and usability improvements.
  • Follow software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes, configuration management practices, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with database teams to improve data access patterns, reporting logic, and application performance.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system diagrams, business rules, process flows, functional hierarchies, and relational models.
  • Support testing activities including unit testing, integration testing, validation, and user experience assessments.
  • Provide technical updates for monthly reporting, including system changes, performance metrics, and downtime analysis.
