Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
- CPA required.
- Relevant industry experience or Public accounting experience.
- 3+ years of financial reporting, public accounting, or audit experience.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large data sets.
- Strong knowledge and experience with the preparation of US GAAP financial statements.
- Experience preparing accounting research position papers and designing implementation plans.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively to influence functional groups.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, such as Oracle NetSuite, preferred.
- Sigma experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform monthly reporting and analysis on US GAAP results and related reporting and disclosures.
- Prepare annual financial statements with detailed workpapers.
- Assist with new accounting standards and transaction implementation, including drafting position and implementation memos.
- Perform contract reviews and coordinate implementation requirements.
- Maintain accounting compliance with current and proposed US GAAP regulations, especially regarding insurance industry standards and revenue recognition.
- Coordinate with external consultants and accounting firms on financial and tax audits.
- Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend improvements to scale processes.
- Manage general ledger and other financial systems.
