Requirements
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally a mix of public accounting and high-growth startup or consumer subscription environments.
- Strong command of U.S. GAAP, with the ability to research technical accounting questions.
- Track record of owning month-end close components, including journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis.
- Systems fluency with modern GL platforms.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Fluency with AI tools to automate and improve work.
- Process-improvement mindset.
- Comfort with the pace and ambiguity of an early-stage company.
- CPA or active CPA candidate preferred.
- SQL proficiency is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Own key areas of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, preparing complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Own assigned components of the balance sheet and income statement, including month-end review and monthly flux and variance analysis.
- Prepare GAAP-aligned financial statements and monthly reporting packages for the founders, board, and investors.
- Manage and improve accounting processes across the general ledger, including revenue, accounts receivable, accruals, and inventory and COGS.
- Research and document accounting conclusions in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Redesign and automate routine processes such as journal entries and reconciliations using AI tools.
- Act as a business partner across Operations, Partnerships, Legal, and Product; support external audit and tax workstreams.
