Requirements
- Ph.D. in Economics, Health Services Research, or a related field with 7+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 11+ years.
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading large federal contracts.
- Direct experience on prior or current CMMI alternative payment model contracts.
- Proven track record of winning new business with CMS, AHRQ, or other HHS agencies.
- Extensive knowledge of Medicare payment policy, Medicare Advantage, and/or Medicaid.
- Proficiency with Medicare claims, provider claims, survey data, and publicly available datasets.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Extensive success in writing, conceptualizing, analyzing, and consulting on large-scale federally funded projects.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in written deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Lead project and task execution and business development for CMS and the CMS Innovation Center (CMMI).
- Direct execution of large complex projects or portfolios; oversee planning, design, and implementation of project procedures.
- Provide senior subject matter expertise related to specialty care, including quality measures, payment policies, and model design.
- Lead proposal efforts including review for sound practices, briefings, and client development activities.
- Serve as industry expert for alternative payment models, value-based reimbursement, or Medicare payment policies.
- Coach and manage staff to promote professional development and set performance goals.
