Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in compliance, privacy, or commercial regulatory roles.
- In-house experience at a biopharma or pharma-services company strongly preferred.
- Expert knowledge of HIPAA, SOC 2, and CCPA/CPRA.
- Working familiarity with GDPR and relevant pharma industry codes.
- Demonstrated ownership of SOC 2 attestations and security assessments.
- Experience reviewing and managing Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) and Data Use Agreements (DUAs).
- Strong business acumen with the ability to frame security and privacy risks in business terms.
- Excellent writing and communication skills for professional advisory work.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Ability to travel occasionally.
Responsibilities
- Own the compliance program end to end, including policy development, enforcement, monitoring, and reporting.
- Manage and develop the internal risk-assessment program, providing clear recommendations to leadership.
- Coordinate and conduct audit and investigative activities while serving as the lead contact for outside regulators and auditors.
- Maintain SOC 2 attestations and lead partner-facing IT/security assessments.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert for BAAs and Data Use Agreements.
- Advise business leadership on privacy matters regarding patient PHI/PII and oversee breach notification processes.
- Train and enable customer-facing teams on data-sharing compliance issues and requirements.
