Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification strongly preferred.
  • 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • At least 3 years leading revenue accounting teams.
  • Experience managing and developing accounting teams.
  • Deep expertise in revenue recognition (ASC 606), deferred revenue, WIP accounting, customer billing, and contract review.
  • Strong experience supporting internal and external audits and maintaining effective financial controls.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex accounting issues and develop scalable solutions.
  • Experience improving accounting processes through automation and operational enhancements.
  • Proficiency with ERP and financial reporting systems; Workday preferred.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and Adaptive Planning.
  • Advanced Excel capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the revenue accounting function, ensuring compliance with ASC 606, internal accounting policies, and reporting requirements.
  • Oversee customer invoicing, billing operations, revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and work-in-process (WIP) accounting activities.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
  • Review customer contracts and assess revenue recognition considerations in alignment with applicable accounting standards.
  • Prepare and analyze revenue reporting, performance metrics, and financial trends to support executive decision-making.
  • Lead internal and external audit processes related to revenue accounting, ensuring timely responses and resolution of audit requests.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal controls, documentation, and governance processes across revenue accounting activities.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline, standardize, and automate revenue accounting workflows and reporting processes.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Sales, Legal, and Consulting teams to ensure accurate contract setup, billing processes, and revenue recognition.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering a high-performing and collaborative culture.
