Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification strongly preferred.
- 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience.
- At least 3 years leading revenue accounting teams.
- Experience managing and developing accounting teams.
- Deep expertise in revenue recognition (ASC 606), deferred revenue, WIP accounting, customer billing, and contract review.
- Strong experience supporting internal and external audits and maintaining effective financial controls.
- Proven ability to analyze complex accounting issues and develop scalable solutions.
- Experience improving accounting processes through automation and operational enhancements.
- Proficiency with ERP and financial reporting systems; Workday preferred.
- Familiarity with Salesforce and Adaptive Planning.
- Advanced Excel capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead the revenue accounting function, ensuring compliance with ASC 606, internal accounting policies, and reporting requirements.
- Oversee customer invoicing, billing operations, revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and work-in-process (WIP) accounting activities.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
- Review customer contracts and assess revenue recognition considerations in alignment with applicable accounting standards.
- Prepare and analyze revenue reporting, performance metrics, and financial trends to support executive decision-making.
- Lead internal and external audit processes related to revenue accounting, ensuring timely responses and resolution of audit requests.
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls, documentation, and governance processes across revenue accounting activities.
- Identify opportunities to streamline, standardize, and automate revenue accounting workflows and reporting processes.
- Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Sales, Legal, and Consulting teams to ensure accurate contract setup, billing processes, and revenue recognition.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering a high-performing and collaborative culture.
