Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on full-stack web applications at scale.
- Experience operating in high-ambiguity environments with limited resources.
- Deep proficiency in modern web stacks including React, TypeScript, Node.js/NestJS, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
- Proven ability to own system architecture and evolve complex technical foundations.
- Security-first mindset with knowledge of OWASP Top 10, threat modeling, and authentication systems.
- Performance engineering instincts for identifying bottlenecks and building responsive systems.
- Strong shipping discipline balancing thoughtful design with pragmatic delivery.
- Enthusiasm for agentic coding and AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code or Copilot.
- Bias for ownership and action in identifying and resolving issues.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the architecture of the data layer, API surface, frontend, and infrastructure.
- Write production code daily in React, Node/NestJS, and PostgreSQL on AWS.
- Design for multi-tenancy at scale, addressing isolation, data partitioning, and role-based access.
- Implement security as a design constraint including authentication, encryption, and API hardening.
- Profile and optimize system performance from database queries to frontend rendering.
- Architect for growth with horizontal scaling, load management, and async processing.
- Establish technical patterns, conventions, and quality standards for the engineering team.
- Mentor and uplevel mid-level and senior engineers through design reviews and collaboration.
- Evaluate and adopt modern tools, including agentic coding tools like Claude Code.
