Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in clinical outsourcing, vendor management, or related roles.
- Experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO industry.
- Proven experience managing external vendors and negotiating complex contracts.
- Strong understanding of clinical trial operations and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of compliance standards and financial management processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong influencing, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to analyze problems and develop solutions in a dynamic environment.
- Highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Up to 10% travel required, including occasional overnight travel.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute clinical outsourcing strategies in partnership with Clinical Development teams.
- Lead vendor selection processes, including RFI/RFP activities, evaluations, and bid defense meetings.
- Negotiate and manage master service agreements, work orders, and change orders.
- Ensure outsourcing activities follow ethical standards, internal policies, and regulatory compliance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external vendors while resolving performance issues.
- Drive strategic initiatives like preferred provider models and KPI development.
- Partner with Finance to support clinical trial budget forecasting and accrual management.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance vendor performance and efficiency.
