Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • CFA, CIM, or another advanced investment designation strongly preferred; CAIA, CIMA, or FRM considered valuable assets.
  • 5+ years of experience in investment consulting, portfolio analytics, asset management, or a related investment-focused role.
  • Deep understanding of modern portfolio theory, asset allocation, risk management, and fixed income strategies across major asset classes.
  • Strong knowledge of investment products including mutual funds, ETFs, SMAs, model portfolios, and alternative investments.
  • Proven ability to interpret portfolio analytics and turn findings into practical, actionable recommendations.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities with advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Experience with portfolio analysis tools such as Morningstar, YCharts, Jacobi, Second Engine, or similar platforms is an asset.
  • Fully bilingual in French and English, with the ability to support clients across different jurisdictions.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple consulting engagements independently.

Responsibilities

  • Lead one-on-one investment consulting engagements focused on portfolio construction, asset allocation, risk management, implementation efficiency, and advisor communication.
  • Review advisor portfolios to identify structural opportunities, including concentration risks, style drift, hidden overlap, behavioural biases, allocation issues, and insufficient downside protection.
  • Translate portfolio analysis into clear recommendations aligned with advisor objectives, client needs, investment philosophy, and business realities.
  • Develop portfolio narratives and communication tools that advisors can use with clients and prospects.
  • Build and maintain strong referral relationships with internal distribution partners to generate consulting opportunities and manage an active pipeline.
  • Partner with investment specialists and sales teams to identify opportunities and increase engagement with advisory professionals.
  • Support branch visits, industry events, conferences, and internal presentations as required.
  • Maintain strong administrative processes to ensure consulting engagements are delivered consistently and efficiently.
  • Track activity, manage priorities, and contribute to business growth objectives through high-quality client interactions.
