Requirements
- College degree or equivalent claims management experience.
- Individual adjusting license for a designated home state and willingness to secure additional licenses.
- 5+ years of construction defect claims management experience preferred.
- 10+ years of litigation management experience preferred.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to research coverage dates, limits, and restrictions.
- Ability to exercise judgment in applying legal liability.
- Understanding of the Fair Claims Practices 790.03.
Responsibilities
- Adjust complex or high exposure construction defect claims for assigned programs.
- Investigate facts of loss by securing statements, contracts, expert reports, and other supporting documentation.
- Draft reservation of rights and coverage denials for review and approval.
- Assign, monitor, and direct defense counsel, independent adjusters, and experts.
- Evaluate, set, or recommend reserves for each file handled.
- Maintain productive relationships with internal and external customers including clients and underwriters.
- Prepare written reports according to company policy and procedures.
- Provide regular updates on file status to insureds, claimants, underwriters, and carriers.
