Requirements
- 8+ years of casualty claims handling experience, including significant experience managing Abuse/Molestation Liability claims with a primary property and casualty carrier.
- Strong experience in coverage analysis, claim evaluation, investigation, and complex claim resolution.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to assess risk exposure, interpret policy coverage, and make strategic claim decisions.
- Strong litigation management experience and ability to collaborate effectively with defense counsel.
- College degree required; Juris Doctor (JD) degree preferred.
- Proficiency with standard business software, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license in good standing with the ability to travel as needed.
Responsibilities
- Handle complex Abuse/Molestation Liability Specialty Claims, including coverage analysis, investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and final disposition.
- Conduct thorough claim investigations through communication with claimants, attorneys, insured parties, witnesses, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Analyze claim information to determine liability, exposure, coverage considerations, and potential financial impact.
- Evaluate, negotiate, and resolve claims within assigned authority while applying appropriate settlement strategies, denials, or releases.
- Collaborate with defense counsel to manage litigation activities, budgets, trial strategies, and claim outcomes.
- Present significant claims, trends, coverage considerations, and exposure assessments to claims, underwriting, reinsurance, and actuarial leadership.
- Prepare timely reports on significant cases and participate in mediations, arbitrations, settlement conferences, trials, and other legal proceedings when required.
- Support training, knowledge sharing, and thought leadership initiatives within the claims organization.
