Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, such as Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Food Processing, Civil, or Electrical Engineering.
- 7+ years of experience in engineering project management, preferably within manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Proven experience managing capital projects, including projects with budgets ranging from $1M–$3M or similar large-scale investments.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, process improvement, packaging, utilities, and production systems.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing relationships with internal stakeholders and external engineering partners.
- Ability to travel approximately 30–50% of the time to support projects across multiple locations.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies, with PMP certification considered a plus.
- Experience with equipment specification, installation, and startup activities, particularly for industrial process and utility systems.
- Familiarity with finance fundamentals, cost accounting, statistical process control, and productivity improvement initiatives.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, CAD software, MS Project, and project tracking platforms.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee engineering capital projects, managing scope, budgets, schedules, execution plans, and project outcomes.
- Provide technical guidance during project definition, design, implementation, and startup phases while ensuring compliance with engineering standards.
- Manage project financials, track spending, and provide regular reporting on progress, risks, and opportunities.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, safety, quality, supply chain, procurement, finance, and external partners.
- Drive standardization and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple manufacturing locations.
- Support plant operations by identifying solutions to operational challenges and improving project execution processes.
- Lead, mentor, and develop team members while fostering collaboration, accountability, and strong execution practices.
- Manage equipment installation, commissioning activities, startup performance, and project closeout processes.
- Utilize project management tools and methodologies to track milestones, resources, dependencies, and deliverables.
- Build strong relationships with vendors, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
